Our meetingon the 3rd of July consisted of holding our AGM.
This was followed by a fun workshop lead by Leigh on how to make a funky container using a plastic soft drinks bottle.
Members & some Grandchildren as it was School Holidays had fun make some weird & wonderful shapes. See the gallery of Photos below.
The Bench Title was Winter Warmth some lovely designs had been exhibited.
The club had a busy time in July as on 10th July we took a coach trip up to the Nambour Garden Expo. 24 Members and Friends had a great day. The weatherwas kind & it didn’t rain until just before we left for our return journey home.
Sarah one of our Members was chosen out of the audience to compete with a couple of the Media commentators & another floral designer from Nambour Club in a Ready Steady Snip Competition. They were all given the same plant material & container & had to create a design. Sarah’s won the audience clapometer vote. Well done Sarah.
Have posted some photos below.
Last week on the the 6th August we were creating 16 table arrangements ready for a Fund raising evening for Josh a 16yr old local boy who is suffering with A brain tumor that requires some special very expensive treatment. We were asked by the fund raiser organisers if we could help by doing the table arrangements which then would be auctioned to help with funds. So we had another creative two days.
Val again was kind enough to provide the working venue.
